I recently had the opportunity to tour this home, and what immediately caught my attention wasn't its size or floor plan. It was the woodwork.

Those are the questions that came to mind while I toured a 1927 English Cottage at 3804 NE Wistaria Drive, in Portland's Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood, near Alameda Ridge.

Portland’s September housing numbers look surprisingly resilient but mortgage rates could change the story. Homes are also taking longer to sell. Average days on market increased from 56 days to 62. But here’s where it gets interesting. The median sale price actually increased slightly.

Mortgage Rates rose over 83 Basis Points in just over a month. On a $500,000 Mortgage that’s $40,000 in Purchasing Power that just disappeared. That’s going to impact pricing moving forward.

So, it looks like Tigard home prices fell BUT when I dug into the actual sales, I found something much more interesting. The typical home that sold this year was about 370 square feet smaller, and the number of sales above $800,000 was cut by more than half.

The history of Irvington begins in 1851, when riverboat captain William Irving and his wife, Elizabeth, settled a 644 acre Donation Land Claim on Portland's east side.
